Due to the strange Space Fold phenomena known as "Uroboros Aurora," Aisha Blanchette, the young Zentradi head of S.M.S.'s branch on Uroboros, develop new variable fighter equipped with a Fold Dimensional Resonance system (FDR).
Fold Dimensional Resonance system (FDR), an improved version of Fold Wave system that use in YF-29 Durandal, the FDR system was designed to deal with Uroboros's unique environment.
The YF-30 Chronos design use delta wing shape similar to the prototype variable fighter, YF-24.
Due to the Uroboros Aura and the unpredictability of supplies, many parts of the YF-30 Chronos are borrowed from other fighters, most especially the VF-25 and YF-29.

ระบบ Fold Dimensional Resonance system (FDR) นั้นเป็นระบบที่พัฒนามาจากระบบ Fold Wave system ที่ได้ติดตั้งไว้ในเครื่อง YF-29 Durandal แต่ระบบ FDR ได้ถูกออกแบบมาเพื่อความผิดปกติของอวกาศที่ดาวเคราะห์ Uroboros โดยเฉพาะ
รูปแยยของเครื่อง YF-30 Chronos ได้ใช้ปีกรูปทรงสามเหลี่ยมเช่นเดียวกับยานรบรุ่นทดสอบ YF-24
เนื่องจาก Uroboros Aurora ทำให้วัสดุหลายอย่างขาดแคลน ชิ้นส่วนของเครื่อง YF-30 Chronos โดยมากเป็นการยืมมาจากยานรบรุ่นอื่นๆ โดยเฉพาะเครื่อง VF-25 และ YF-29
